| Project Description |
Two lecture halls joined with an operable partition wall that has 181
seats per side in 16 stepped rows. The existing concrete steps had to be
modified to accommodate the new seating layout and tables. Due to its function,
special attention was placed on the acoustics of this space. A suspended
acoustic ceiling was also added to the space as well as custom millwork
acoustic panels to the perimeter walls. Lighting and HVAC was also upgraded
during this project.The biggest challenge for this project was the schedule
and the late start for the work and required completion need to be met for
the start of classes in September. Simultaneously, we had to reform and
place new concrete steps and construct the new ceiling. Work for this project
began in June of 2004 and was completed at the end of August the same year.
